Who we are

Softlanceo provides software engineering and AWS cloud services. For anything in this policy, including requests about your data, contact hello@softlanceo.com.

What we collect

When you submit the form on our contact page, we receive the information you enter:

• Your name
• Your work email address
• Your company or project name
• What you need and what stage you are at, selected from the options provided
• Optionally, a budget range and a timeline, if you choose to give them
• The message you write

The form also submits three things you do not fill in: a hidden timestamp recording when you started, a field that stays empty for anyone using a browser normally, and a verification token from Cloudflare Turnstile. All three exist only to distinguish people from automated submissions, and none of them identifies you.

We do not ask for, and have no use for, special category data. Please do not send credentials, access keys or customer data through this form.

Why we use it

Solely to read your enquiry and reply to it, and to send you a copy of what you submitted so you have a record. Where the UK GDPR or EU GDPR applies, our lawful basis is legitimate interests — responding to a business enquiry that you initiated. You can object to that processing at any time by emailing us.

We do not add you to a mailing list, we do not use your details for marketing sequences, and we do not sell or share them with anyone for their own purposes.

How long we keep it

Enquiries live in our email. We keep those that do not lead anywhere for up to 24 months, in case you come back to the conversation, and then delete them. Where an enquiry becomes an engagement, the correspondence is retained for the duration of that work and for as long as we are required to keep business records afterwards.

The form stores nothing on our side beyond sending those two emails. There is no database of submissions.

Who processes it

We use a small number of providers to run this site. Each acts as a processor on our instructions:

• Vercel — hosts the site and runs the code that handles your form submission. Their servers process the request and log standard technical information such as IP address and user agent for security and operational purposes.
• Resend — delivers the enquiry to us and the confirmation copy to you. The contents of those emails pass through their systems.
• Cloudflare — provides the Turnstile check that distinguishes people from bots on the contact form. It runs as a script loaded from Cloudflare, on that one page, so Cloudflare receives your IP address and browser details when it runs.
• Vercel Analytics and Speed Insights — measure page views and loading performance in aggregate. These are cookieless and do not build a profile of you, which is why this site has no cookie banner.

Some of these providers operate infrastructure outside the UK and EEA. Where personal data is transferred internationally, it is done under the safeguards those providers offer, such as standard contractual clauses.

Cookies

This site sets no cookies of its own, and the analytics it uses are cookieless. Nothing on it profiles you or follows you to another site, so there is no cookie banner and nothing to opt out of.

The contact page is the one place where something else runs. The Cloudflare Turnstile check may store a short-lived value on your device to record that you have already passed it. It is there to keep the form from being abused, which is the basis on which we treat it as strictly necessary to a service you asked for rather than as something requiring consent.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access a copy of your data, correct it, have it deleted, restrict or object to how we use it, and receive it in a portable format. To exercise any of these, email hello@softlanceo.com and we will respond within one month.

If you are in the UK or the EEA and you are unhappy with how we have handled your data, you can complain to your national data protection authority. In the UK that is the Information Commissioner’s Office.

Changes

If this policy changes materially, the date at the top of this page changes with it. This version is dated September 2026.
